9 августа в Сан-Диего компания Linspire представила первую официальную версию ещё одного дистрибутива основанного на Debian, но с организацией подобной дистрибутивам FedoraCore и SuSE. Доступны две версии: Freespire 1.0 и Freespire 1.0 OSS Edition.
